Keeping it together with Annie Blyth [???]

Hi, welcome to our virtual coffee shop. Pull up a chair, take the load of your feet. Let's chat.

So who are you, where you from, what do you do in life?
Iím Annie and Iím from Norwich, UK. Iím a Research Associate and work in medical research Ė I enjoy my work Ė itís very varied and rich. I feel very fortunate.

Can I get you a drink? Cappucino, earl grey, dandelion and burdock, pale ale?
A cappuccino would be good. I like the idea of herby teas and barleycup Ö healthy and wholesome, but I donít like the taste. I love coffee Ė itís luxurious and bounteous. Mmmmmm.

Would you like a doughnut or pastry to go with that?
Of course!

So, if you had to describe the church/project/experiment/thingy you are currently involved with in one sentence, what would that sentence be?
Trying to keep things together while bereft and leaderless.

Are you an instigator? / new recruit? / have absolutely no recollection of how you got involved?
Iím not a new recruit, but not an instigator either. Are you implying that you have to become an instigator after your new recruit phase is past? Oh dear Ė Iím not doing very well.

What do you value most about being part of it?
I donít know Ė at the moment Iím not really valuing anything.

What excites you most about it?
I donít feel excited, at the moment. Oh dear Ö sorry!

Has anyone ever turned up out of the blue not knowing what to expect?
What did they say?

Yes they have Ė they say Ďhelloí and Ďthis is a nice churchí.

Three words that describe your attitude to 'being church' in the big wide world: Difficult, impotent, unworthy.

Three words that DON'T:
Bright, attractive, desirable.

You have this weird dream - you meet Jesus face to face.
Where does it happen, what does he say to you?

I donít have this dream, but I can visualise the moment. I think heíd say ĎI love you Annieí and heíd have a disappointed look on his face

What's the big secret you're itching to share with everyone?
I donít have a secret that Iím itching to share

What would your 'emerging church survival kit' contain?
Expectancy and open-ness

Anything else you'd like to share with us before you have to rush off?
This is quite useful. My natural tendency is to be bright, happy and positive but this has afforded me the chance to truly say what I feel. I often take on the responsibility for othersí comfort, ease and happiness, but I havenít felt the need to do that here.

Thanks. Good to see you. Have a good day!
Good to see you too Ė have a very happy day.
